About Me

My name is Alison Greyer and I'm an artist, printmaker and surface pattern designer based in Manchester, UK.

Alison creating a manual print

As an artist, I’m drawn to the simplicity of clean lines, graphic shapes and bold colours. I love all things vintage, especially the chairs and furniture of the mid-century modern era and this period in time is a big inspiration in my work.

Creatively, I have a deep love of both printmaking and collage. I can spend hours cutting up paper and playing with the possibilities that come with seeing how shapes and colours work together.

My practice as a printmaker is informed by my love of surface pattern design - prints may be cut up, reworked or collaged back together as I get immersed in exploring texture, layout and balance. I teach printmaking classes in my local area, please see the Events and Workshops page of my site for more details.

My range of homewares, including cushions, tea towels and more my recent additions of coasters and placemats, are an easy way to bring retro pattern and a palette of bright, fresh colour into your home, while still retaining a contemporary and modern feel.

A few of my designs are now also available as fabric by the metre, for you to get creative with your own projects!
